Fireplace Repair Service
A fireplace is more than just a secondary heat source, it adds ambiance to any room and gives you that cozy feeling at home. Whether you need your fire brick, damper or clay liners repaired, we will take care of it.
How do you know if you need fireplace repairs? If you notice any of the below signs, give us a call, and we will assess the situation and determine the health of your fireplace:
Rust - If you see rust on the firebox or damper, that means there is moisture present that is causing the rust. It also means the safety of your firebox is compromised, and you need to call us for a repair.
White staining - When you see a white powdery substance on the bricks, that means that moisture inside the bricks themselves is pushing the salt out. Give us a call, and we can determine the source of the moisture.
Crumbling mortar - The mortar is what holds together the bricks on your fireplace. If the mortar starts to crumble, that can result in bricks coming loose. Schedule an appointment so our experts can take a look.
If at any point you start to see smoke come back into the room from your wood burning fireplace (and the damper is open), please give us a call. There are a few different reasons that the smoke has gone off course and is not exiting through the chimney. Our techs will want to know when you see the smoke come back into the room, whether it’s right when you start the fire, or constant throughout. We will also look at the construction of the firebox and the height of the damper and flue. All of these factors could cause smoking from the fireplace.
We strongly recommend yearly fireplace and chimney inspections and more frequent chimney cleanings to ensure the safest and most functional fireplace. If at any point there is a sudden change in how your fireplace or chimney functions, schedule an inspection immediately.
New Fireplace Installation
Fireplaces can liven up any room! If you are ready to transform your living space with the addition of a fireplace, give our team of skilled craftsmen a call. Proper installation is key when it comes to the safety and efficiency of your fireplace. If you aren’t sure what type and style of fireplace is best for your home, we’d be happy to advise you.
The best way to prevent costly and frequent fireplace repairs is with regular maintenance. Having your fireplace serviced twice a year will also greatly reduce your risk of fire.
Here are some tips for taking care of your fireplace in between our visits:
Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed and in good working order.
Only burn seasoned hardwoods because they burn cleaner and hotter. Unseasoned wood will produce a smoky fire because of the amount of water in the wood.
Always burn wood on a wood grate or basket pushed as far back in the fireplace itself as possible.
Don’t let ashes build up inside the fireplace. Remove the ashes immediately once they have cooled and sprinkle over flowerbeds to give your plants some nutrients.
We repair, install and maintain gas, wood, and electric fireplaces. Our rates are affordable, and we never leave you with a mess to clean up. Call us today for more information.
